The Poet’s Garden

Rochester Garden Club recognized the historical significance of the Frederick Law Olmsted designed Highland Park—Rochester’s first public park—by creating The Poet’s Garden in 1916 to honor the 300th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death.

Over the years The Poet’s Garden has evolved into a peaceful woodland haven for all visitors to Highland Park. It continues to inspire the membership of Rochester Garden Club, as well, becoming the namesake and creative focus for our GCA Flower Show. Our committee and Club have embraced the opportunity to create classes and an educational exhibit to honor William Shakespeare.

We hope you will join us in The Poet's Garden.
